| Since 2002, Tri-County has been in charge of handling all rescue calls within the Township of Mansfield. Our duties include handling all motor vehicle accidents involving injuries or entrapment, technical rescues, water rescues, and confined space rescues. A select number of members are trained to handle such situations. Some of the members on the extrication team also belong to our extrication competition squad. The competition squad competes against other extrication teams in two pit scenarios: Unlimited pit (use of hand tools and hydraulic tools) and Limited pit (use of hand tools only). The competitions, which consist of actual motor vehicle accident scenarios, are a great learning experience as it challenges teams to explore new ideas on how to safely remove a trapped patient. |
